The problem of fat accumulation has become one of the most serious health and aesthetic issues of our time. The source of this problem is largely the irregular eating and drinking habits resulting from social activities. Of course, our genetic structure also has an effect on fat accumulation, but not as much as eating and drinking habits. The dynamism of our social lives can be our biggest obstacle in fighting fat accumulation. Let's review what we eat and drink throughout the day. Since we often need to leave quickly during the day, we start the day with easily accessible, high-calorie, doughy foods. Maybe we even have a sugary or creamy coffee. What we eat and drink in the evenings and before going to bed at night is also another factor. Nuts, snacks, and what we eat and drink in social environments throughout the day... Most of the calories we consume are unnecessary. Because these are unnecessary calorie loads beyond our body's basic needs for living.
So, what happens to this excess calorie load? Excess calories are stored within fat cells. Usually, there is no widespread storage; there are fat cells that have undertaken this storage task in certain parts of our body. These storage locations can be different for everyone. For some, it's around the waist; for others, the chest or back area; and for some, excess calories are stored in fat cells in the hips or legs. Of course, fat cells do not increase in number; instead, each cell grows in volume by accumulating more fat matter. Naturally, this causes that area to expand and become fatty.
Regional fat accumulation, which we call localized fat, occurs as a result of an excess calorie load in the body. Regional fat accumulation is the presence of subcutaneous fat in a specific body area to the extent that it distorts the shape of that area. If this situation does not create an alarm effect on us and we do not make an effort to improve our current lifestyle, we may have a generally overweight body structure over time.
Realizing regional fat accumulation is a warning, and an intensive effort is immediately initiated to get rid of these fats by resorting to methods such as diet, exercise, and regional slimming devices. Diet and exercise seem like the main solution to get rid of these fats, but maintaining both diet and exercise together is sustainable for very few people. Most of us lose our initial enthusiasm and experience a decrease in our determination within a few months, and our combination of exercise and diet is broken; first the diet is abandoned, exercise times decrease, and then the activity of going to exercise is abandoned, we return to our old eating habits, and the weight we lost in the first stage - perhaps even a bit more - is regained. I'm sure this scenario sounds familiar to many of us.
Perhaps the most important thing that breaks our enthusiasm for getting in shape with exercise and diet is that this path is really very long. In our normal life flow, we are so used to getting quick results and having things happen immediately that we cannot show the necessary patience for things that require time. Exercising regularly and dedicating time to it requires real sacrifice. The reshaping of a body due to exercise takes about six months at the earliest. In addition, not being able to eat and drink what we want is truly challenging. It is necessary to sustain these for months without seeing sufficient results. In fact, the combination of diet and exercise should be our lifestyle. Only in this way is the continuity of its benefits ensured.
Dietary nutrition, that is, creating a feeling of fullness with foods containing lower calories, is the most frequently used method for losing weight. It is actually effective, but of course, during the period it is maintained. The real problem is continuity. As soon as we start losing weight, we want to get rid of our regional fats, but they just stay there, and weight loss occurs from our other regions. Because the fats in the storage area are the last fats to melt. Therefore, to get rid of unwanted fats, it is necessary to continue the diet for a long time.
Of course, faster ways to get rid of fats are possible in aesthetic surgery.
Lipolysis: literally means "to break down or kill the fat cell."
Liposuction: literally means "to pull fat, to suck fat, to take fat."
Breaking down/killing fats and pulling fats are separate procedures.
How do we break down and kill fat cells? There are various methods for this purpose. Fat tissue can be made ready to be pulled out with a vacuum manually using hand cannulas, with laser energy, with ultrasound (vaser) energy, and with mechanical vibration (PAL).
Laser use: (laser-assisted liposuction, laser lipolysis) Various laser sources can be used. This energy at various wavelengths melts and liquefies fat cells with focused heat energy. As a result, it becomes easier to pull out the fat tissue. A more homogeneous fat removal process is performed. It is very effective especially in areas with little fat. In my opinion, it is unnecessary in areas with extensive fat tissue. Also, its use on hollow surfaces like the abdomen can be dangerous. It is also believed to provide a good degree of skin tightening. If we do not perform liposuction afterwards, the procedure in only small limited areas where lipolysis is performed is called laser lipolysis.
Ultrasound use: Fat cells can be burst and liquefied with specialized and focused ultrasound energy. Thus, it becomes easier to pull them out. It is effective. Caution must be exercised. It has a risk of creating burns as much as laser. it has a good skin tightening effect.
Mechanical vibrator device: The liposuction cannula is attached to the vibrator. Fat cells are mechanically broken down with the vibration power of the machine. The best part is that liposuction is performed together with the breakdown process. It is very effective in hard areas and difficult regions. It reduces the use of muscle power.
