Tummy Tuck

Abdomen Aesthetics

Abdomen region aesthetics includes full tummy tuck surgery, mini tummy tuck, liposuction, and abdominal muscle repair applications. Extensive information about liposuction is provided under the relevant heading. The terminological equivalent of abdomen tuck surgeries is 'Abdominoplasty'. It is one of the most frequently performed surgeries in plastic surgery. Especially the presence of sagging, loosening, and cracks in the skin after childbirth bothers women. Abdominoplasty and the vacuum fat removal (liposuction) methods often performed alongside it are operations performed to eliminate these complaints. Liposuction and abdominoplasty procedures are not performed for weight loss, but for body shaping. In abdomen tuck surgeries, it is also possible to get rid of all skin cracks remaining below the belly button.

Abdominoplasty Surgery

Abdominoplasty surgery is a surgery that lasts an average of 2.5-3 hours. The surgery is performed under general anesthesia. The patient is discharged after staying in the hospital for 1-2 nights. Drains are removed in 24-48 hours. Dissolving stitches are used. There is no need for stitch removal. It is recommended for the patient to walk by leaning forward slightly, especially in the first week, to avoid creating tension in the stitch line. Walking is recommended from the next day. A check-up is called for on the third day after discharge. A shower can be taken from this day on. No additional dressings are needed. If muscle repair was not performed, there is no pain. In cases where muscle repair is performed, there may be muscle pain in the abdominal area with movement. Although light exercises are recommended after the second week post-surgery, if muscle repair has been performed, it is necessary to stay away from heavy exercises and sports for at least 6 weeks.

Types of Abdominoplasty Surgery

Abdominoplasty surgeries are various according to the technique applied and the patient's condition. Which one should be applied to you is decided after the meeting and examination with your doctor before the surgery. Mini tummy tuck (mini abdominoplasty) can be considered a more suitable method for those with limited complaints in the abdomen area, especially in the lower abdominal area. In this method, the scar that will remain in the lower part of the abdomen is shorter than the scar seen in full abdominoplasty surgery. Skin stretching is performed only on the lower belly area. Full abdominoplasty (full tuck) is performed on patients who also have excess skin that forms folds in the upper belly area. In this surgery, a new belly button pit is created. The entire anterior abdominal skin is stretched and performed by removing excess skin. In this procedure, abdominal muscle separation (rectus diastasis) repair is usually also performed. Muscle repair is rarely not performed in mini abdominoplasty surgery.
